About

Department of Mathematical Modelling of Control Systems was founded in 1990. It trains students and postgraduates in the areas of classic control theory, non-differential optimization problems and development of specific analytical and numerical methods of their solving.

Research

Research in the field of nonsmooth function analysis and their application to quasidifferential optimization and approximation is being performed. Constructive methods for solving nonsmooth analysis problems are being developed with use of subdifferential and quasidifferential calculus. Algorithms for problem solving in non-differential optimization, nonsmooth identification are in development, for example, solving nonsmooth systems, analysis of existence and uniqueness for implicit functions, solving nonlinear programming problems with equality and inequality constraints (methods of 1st and 2nd order), solving problems in quasilinear algebra, approximation (1st and 2nd order) of nonsmooth functions.

Researchers of the department are authors of more than 250 works (among them 7 monographs, 5 of them have translated in English, one in German, one in Polish and one in Chinese), 6 collective monographs and work collections (3 in English).

More than 35 Ph. D. theses were prepared and defended under supervision of professors of the department.

Department involved in collaboration with universities in Germany, Poland, Italy, China, Greece, Australia, France and researches from other countries.

Department graduates works in institutes of Russia, CIS and other counties.
